Siegfried's Delicatessen

Today, being my birthday, my husband had some very nice things planned for me, starting off with lunch at Siegfried's Delicatessen. I'd been bemoaning the lack of German food in the Salt Lake valley - Bohemian Brewery is all right, with a handful of German food selections - but Siegfried's was definitely much more authentic: a deli counter filled with sausages (we bought a few of six different types) and other German food; a store with a good selection of German foods, candies and chocolates, and even German-language magazines - and of course, the real reason we'd gone, a good variety of food ready for the immediate eating.

My husband ordered the Bratwurst, which came with two
sides of his choosing: Spaetzle and cold potato salad.
...the Wienerschnitzel with gravy.
I ordered the hot potato salad and the
cucumber and tomato salad sides to go with...

We also ordered the Black Forest cake.
We also tried the marzipan cake.
(We got a slice of each and shared.)
