Joe's Crab Shack

Tonight my husband and I had the chance to watch and hang out with my husband's 10-year-old goddaughter. After taking her to the Boondocks Fun Center, where we played a couple rounds of mini-golf, sent her on the bumper boats, and won over 630 tickets from their arcade, we headed to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.

We started with crab nachos.

I had a side order of a crab cake, which came with a
spicy sauce. (Mmm, saucy.)

My entree was the Caesar salad, which tasted like it had a
dash of Tabasco, with grilled chicken.

India House

My husband and I had plans to see Star Trek Into Darkness tonight, and decided to go out to dinner at a a new place - India House - beforehand.

We got three appetizers, since my husband was so
hungry; this is Samosa Chaat (crushed vegetable samosas
with chopped onions, yogurt, and Tamarind sauce).

The shrimp pakora was the best of the appetizers.

We also tried the meat samosas.
I went with the lamb saag for dinner.

I tried the Keema Naan (Indian bread stuffed with lamb.)

My husband tried the garlic naan.

Paradise Bakery

I ate so well today; I came in well under my calorie count. The problem was that I got blindsided by the bakery at which my friend K. and I stopped - Paradise Bakery - so she could buy some treats for her bowling team. Darn it.

I didn't even really want dessert, but the carrot cake - well, it was calling me name.

And then I thought it would just be mean to not bring some cookies home for my husband, so I chose lemon, sugar cookie, snicker doodles, a double chocolate type, and chocolate chip.

Rumbi Island Grill

My husband came back from his business trip tonight, but while I agreed I'd have dinner ready for him (he got home later in the evening), my friend K. texted me and asked if I wanted to meet her for an early dinner before she headed off for her bowling night. I met her at the bowling alley, and we traipsed on over to Rumbi Island Grill - a place I hadn't heard of before.

I started with Bahama Mama's Tortilla Soup (apologies for the blurriness - it was good stuff!):

Then I moved on to the Jamaican Jerk Caesar:
