Himalayan Kitchen

My father-in-law was in town unexpectedly this weekend, and on his last night here, we took him to Himalayan Kitchen. We've been there with him before and he had enjoyed it, so requested to go back.

We started with the vegetable platter, which came with a
vegetable samosa, vegetable pakora, and onion bhaji.
We also shared paneer pakora.
My father-in-law had the Kathmandu tandoori, which came
with chicken, lamb, prawns, and shish kebab.
Both my husband and I had the lamb tikka masala.
Also: poori!

Everest Indian Restaurant

My husband and I had an early night tonight, since we're flying home tomorrow, so we stopped off for dinner at Everest Indian Restaurant on our way back to our hotel.

These were traditional Tibetan (I think) dumplings. They were
quite good - as was the dipping sauce, which was mild but
very well seasoned.
I tried something new: Everest Lamb, a chef's special in
which lamb was cooked in a coconut apricot sauce. I'm not
a fan of apricots, but this was quite nice.
And of course we had the obligatory naan.

Himalayan Kitchen

My parents, husband, and I decided to go see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Leonardo Museum this afternoon, after which we saw the Christmas decorations and lights at Temple Square. We finished our evening by having dinner at Himalayan Kitchen.

We'd ordered assorted meat platter as an appetizer, but
accidentally got sent the vegetable platter instead.
Fortunately, it was really good! It came with onion bhaji,
a vegetable samosa, and vegetable pakora.

Upon hearing that we'd been sent the wrong appetizer,
we were sent the right one. The assorted meat platter came
with lamb kebab, chicken tikka shish kebab, chicken
tandoori, and grilled prawn.
My lamb saag - one of my favorite dishes.
My husband is a big fan of naan, so we ordered the bread
basket, which came with an assortment of naan, roti, kulcha,
and aloo paratha.

And since I like the poori, I requested an order of this as well.

Kitchen-Eldhus

We're staying a week in Reykjavik before flying home, and serendipitously our hotel is conveniently located close to a busy thoroughfare with lots of restaurants, so it was easy to find our dinner at Kitchen-Eldhus.

appetizer: Choyola (smoked lamb marinated with Nepali-
style herbs and spices)
I had the Gosht Kata Masala (bottom);
my husband had a chicken dish.
