Although I'd heard of Gardner Village, and although it's only a few miles down the road, I'd never quite made it down to visit these supposedly "historic" shops; however, every Saturday beginning in June and going to the end of October a farmers market is held on site. And this being Labor Day weekend, a sidewalk sale was also being held, and because they serve breakfast until noon during the Saturdays the farmer's market is held, I convinced my husband to come with me (I offered to buy him all the pancakes he could eat).
It was quite nice; one could buy different sizes of breakfast platters, which included one or two buckwheat pancakes, bacon or sausage, and one or two eggs. (One could also order a la carte.) I got the small breakfast: one small buckwheat pancake, one sausage and one egg (prepared to order; I do like my egg over easy).
It was a beautiful day out: warm and sunny, bt not uncomfortably hot, and flowers blooming. Clearly it was meant to be a family-friendly event: There were a lot of kids around, pony rides, a veggie derby (in which one made a car out of veggies), face painting, etc.
